VOLUNTEERING can be a rewarding way to reach out to people in your local community. There are many ways that volunteers help support SELFA’s work with vulnerable, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people.
All of our activities rely on the support of volunteers and the charity benefits hugely from the experience, skills and enthusiasm they bring.
Roles are rewarding, challenging and fun; volunteering is a great way to get involved in your local community and make a difference to SELFA and the experience children and young people have when they are with us. It’s also a great opportunity to learn new skills, improve your CV, build confidence, have fun and meet new people.

SELFA recognises and appreciates the effort and commitment from its volunteers. It is important to us that all our volunteers are given meaningful roles that enhance our services and add value to the experience children and young people have at our activities.

FUNDRAISERS each year go out of their way to make a difference to SELFA. Be it a bun sale or a bungee jump they invest their time and effort in so many amazing and creative ways. If you would like to fundraise for us we would love to hear from you!    You can download a sponsorship form below.                                                                                                                                               

Many of the local shops in Skipton kindly display SELFA’s red collection boxes; do look out for our boxes when you are shopping locally.  Last year we raised over £500 from our collection boxes, which funded a Fun Day for disabled children.

 

 

CHARITY PARTNERSHIPS can be mutually beneficial. We are always looking for businesses, large or small, that share our vision to support disabled, disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people within our community.

Adopting SELFA as a charity and fundraising for us can bring many benefits to your business; it offers an opportunity to generate positive media coverage, to engage staff, to create team-building opportunities, to increase morale and the best bit… to have lots of fun!
We have many opportunities for staff to volunteer at activities and we are extremely proud that a number of volunteers, we have met through partnerships, feel like part of the SELFA team.
Some businesses prefer to help us in other ways, paying for specific core costs for a year or donating gifts in kind which reduce our running costs so we can spend more on children’s activities.
We are always grateful for donations and services which we can use as prizes for raffles at our fundraising events taking place throughout the year.
