SELFA run a range of after-school clubs for secondary aged children:
- SELFA run four youth clubs, two in Skipton, one in Bentham and one in Settle. The clubs support the development of friendships, life and social skills for young people.
- SELFA Active is focuses on make being active, fit and healthy fun. The sessions run on Wednesdays at Healthy Lifestyle Studio from 3.30pm to 5pm and include opportunities to try a range of different fitness classes, take part in interactive games and learn about and try healthy foods and snacks.
- Girls Rock is a weekly club aimed at girls aged 10 to 16 years, who could benefit from engaging with music as a way to boost confidence and self-esteem and raise aspirations. The club runs on Mondays at Ings School with check-in between 3.30 and 4pm and finishes at 5.30pm.
- Skipton Academy Sports is held on Mondays from 3.45pm to 5pm at The Skipton Academy and offers a range of different sport to suit club members preferences including Ultimate Frisbee, Go Fence, archery, dodgeball and more.
Additionally, we are now piloting SELFA Social - a user-led project aiming to reduce social isolation, develop life skills, foster friendship groups and increase independence, building confidence and raising self-esteem through taking part in small-group activities at evenings and weekends. SELFA also run holiday workshops, trips and residentials – details of which are given on the Calendar and sent out to parents/carers by email.
Young people must have a referral form completed to access activities.
